Filtering Footage

Above is a screenshot of my timeline. As you can see, my editing style is rather messy and choppy but hey at least the job gets done. To pick the shots I wanted on my timeline I first viewed the different versions of the shot in the source panel. When satisfied with the shot I saw, I would drag it onto the timeline where I had previously put the audio track of Medieval synced with my main lipsyncing shot.

I did not pre-filter the footage and just imported it into premiere pro and thought I would go through the footage by referencing from the shot list as I go along and reject any shots that I felt did not fit in. I had four particular sets of shots however which got rejected in their entirety instead of filtered like the others.

The first series of shots which got a rejection letter were the chess scene shots taken on day two. I could not get all the takes and angles I needed and had to reschedule shooting to day 3 when the location of the board room (where these were shot) was unavailable due to there being a meeting.

The second series of shots which got rejected were these which I spontaneously shot in the school's basement, straying from the shotlist (bad idea). These shots were really shaky and I thought I could fix them with some Warp Stabilizer which did not end up working out so these got scrapped.

Another series of shots which got rejected were these ones (shown above) I recorded for the projector sequence. However right after taking these shots, I realized that I was not a fan of the lighting so we switched to a different brick wall (shown below) which had lighting I preferred.

I also wanted to use some drone shots I had previously taken for another project of mine. I had a couple options but ended up filtering all except one (which you can see in the final music video. wink wink)

For the rest of the sets of shots that were taken, I just viewed and filtered them as I edited the video. I can't include every rejected shot as there were a total of 127 shots (yes, im tired.)
