Shooting a Trixxo Ad
I came up with a brand "Trixxo" (this brand does not exist, I just made up the brand to create an ad for it). I decided that it would be a streetwear brand due to the easy availability of the clothing.
Firstly, I created a Pinterest board to have a general moodboard, vibe, and colour palette. Through the commercial I wanted to convey that Trixxo is a bold and innovative streetwear brand that blends cutting-edge design with timeless style. The brand's signature style is characterized by its use of bold colors, graphic prints, and unexpected silhouettes. Trixxo's collections are always on-trend, yet they never sacrifice quality or comfort. Thus the moodboard created was in line with the message.
Through my first preliminary, I had learned the importance of pre-production. Although I had not yet learnt how to create shotlists, I made a list of shots I wanted to try in my notes app just so I don't repeat the mistakes for my last project. I used up and coming film makers on Tiktok as inspiration for the shots. My main inspiration was user @gakulange on Tiktok who is a freelance videographer from Tokyo, Japan. He frequently uploads tutorials for effects which have fit the streetwear vibe we were going for.
For casting, I asked two of my friends Saffa and Dua to model for me. Dua also had some previous modelling experience.
For the location we again chose Emporium mall since it fit with our mood b0ard alongside being tried and tested for not needing any permits.

In terms of equipment, I used my Canon EOS M50 to shoot except for the first shot in which I wanted a wide angle/fisheye lens but did not know how or where to rent one. Thus I resorted to use the 0.5X mode on my iPhone. I have learned that as a beginner film maker you may not have the biggest budget or the highest end gear, but if you think outside the box a little you can make your tools work almost as well.
For editing, I used Capcut mobile due to ease of use and extensive library of effects that I used all throughout my commercial. Editing this took less time as opposed to the music video as I got familiar to all the effects and could work it better.

For the sound, I used "Sticky" by Drake since it matched Trixxo's vibes in terms of boldness, trendsetting, and community focus.
After watching this commercial I saw that I had improved alot in terms of shooting and editing. I learned the significance of pre-production and expanding my horizons of inspiration. All in all, I believe this preliminary played a huge role in polishing my skills for my final music video.
