Fade In, Fade Out

Fade in and fade out transitions, while seemingly simple, are powerful tools due to their subtle nature which can enhance the storytelling process, guide viewers' attention, and create a more immersive experience.

I used this effect mainly twice throughout the length of my music video, First, in the chess scene where I used it to gradually show both characters in frame who sit opposing each other. This effect was combined with an in-camera transition via panning to add to the smooth flow of the overall effect. I used Capcut to add these effects into the final music video by splitting the clips in the final product exported from Premiere Pro, going into the "Animations" tab and choosing the Fade In and Fade Out animations and adjusting the timing to my liking.

Secondly, I used this effect in the pool shoot to create a sense of cohesivity in the clips. I actually aimed to shoot a multi-cam looking sequence hence shot from multiple angles and complied them but they did not seem to flow naturally together so I added in this transition which helps keep the multi-cam look in a smooth manner.
