Titles

For the art-style of the film's title, I was inspired by the mirror work on Sheesh Mahal in Old Lahore.

A monumental piece of Mughal architecture, the Sheesh Mahal is a palace located within the Shah Burj block in northern-western corner of Lahore Fort. It was constructed under the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1631–32.

Here's where things got technical: to create the title I started by writing the Urdu title in a a clipboard and exporting that text into Procreate. However, this format (vector) wouldn't allow for the intricate details I envisioned. So, I converted the text into a "bitmap graphic", essentially transforming it into a canvas for further manipulation.

Next, I created a a new layer and set that to a "clipping mask", a digital tool that confines my design work to the specific shape of the Urdu letters. This ensured a clean and polished look. With this foundation laid, I began crafting the visual elements that would reflect the Sheesh Mahal's iconic style.

I created the illustrations reflected by the Mughal monument's signature outlook and design and added two roses for a cohesive summarized design. Instead of using Pinterest (as I usually do), I thought taking inspiration from the heart of the culture I am trying to represent would be much more fitting and would translate a deeper meaning forth - This title card wasn't just an introduction; it was a miniature homage to the city itself. Here are photos of my exact referances as well:
